Jean Jacques Nya Ngatchou, MD
Jean Jacques is a medical doctor, board-certified in Endocrinology, and passionate about medicine. Based in Seattle, he was named 2017 and 2019 Seattle Met Magazine’s Top Doctor. Three years ago, in 2016, Jean Jacques partnered with his uncle, Celestin Njankou, who has a long affinity with creating natural skincare, to produce high-quality, West African inspired, creams with shea butter and palm kernel oil (not to be confused with palm oil). Since starting this venture, Jean Jacques has been mostly involved in refining the formulations to ensure that it keeps its originality whilst including modern, westernised elements, such as adding in white tea extract to give the creams a luxurious spa-like scent and quality. Coming from a medical background, Jean Jacques has a unique perspective in this family business, being able to customize the products to meet real-life concerns whilst ensuring that it the formulas are designed to meet the requirements of a sophisticated consumer market. Whilst there is an abundance of shea butter products on the market today, touting of its benefits, many of them only offer a relatively low content of shea butter itself, Jean Jacques passion is to create truly natural products that contain high levels of this superior skincare ingredient, a vision that is shared with his wife Line, and his uncle, Celestin.
